Team Wedgewood is focused on safe, recreational and competitive cycling. We provide advice and guidance in a friendly manner. Our members and directors have always believed in helping to develop cycling within our communities and we will continue to do so through the various club activities, as well as our weekly training rides.

Our club rides run every Saturday morning almost all year-round. These rides are geared for building strength, endurance, speed and also confidence on the bike. The rides average 80km, with speeds ranging from 25kph - 50kph, depending on terrain, the time of year, and who's on the front!

Most of our rides culminate with a visit to Bean Around the World on West 10th for some food, drink, and banter!

Fall & Winter
From September through to May, we ride start the season off with more causal rides in Richmond (starting in Vancouver).

If you're thinking of joining the team, this is a great place to start by getting to know some of the members. In fact, we strongly encourage new members to take part in these rides.

Find out more about our Fall and Winter rides.

Spring & Summer
The first Saturday in May we head to the hills and over to the North Shore. We ride from Vancouver to Horseshoe Bay and then on to Lions Bay and/or Cypress Mountain (first look-out or the top) before heading back into Vancouver.

Do I need a license?
The most important thing for riders to have on these rides is a Cycling BC license (or other insured cycling license) that covers them for liability in case of an incident.

If you have not purchased a 2005 license, technically you should not ride with the club. We are forced to exclude non-insured riders from club events (this includes non-insured club members). Please purchase Cycling BC insurance (associate insurance is only $26 for coverage at the club level...or a full race license if you are planning to race).

Want to invite a friend?
This isn't usually a problem, but please inform one of the club directors of who you would like to bring out, and have them introduce themselves to the group when they do meet up with us.
