Road Etiquette

We don't have many rules on our rides. Mostly, just apply your common sense for riding in a pack.

Here are a few guidelines to keep things fun and safe:

Stop for flat tires.
On our regular rides, we always stop and wait for the flat to be fixed. You may even get help! If it’s cold the group may split into two groups and reconvene at an agreed upon spot.

Point out hazards.
In large groups it’s hard to see what’s on the road ahead. Please alert your fellow riders by pointing out hazards.

Ride smooth and steady.
Please don’t swerve or break suddenly (unless absolutely unavoidable). Stay alert to the riders around you and your surroundings.

Be safe.
The Wedgewood Cycling Team will not tolerate any riding deemed unsafe. Erratic behavior, such as drafting or dodging cars, running red lights, or yelling obscenities are just a few examples are things we don't do.

If you ride in an unsafe manner, you will be asked to leave the ride and not return.

Ask if you’re not sure.
If at any time you are unsure of the proper riding etiquette, just ask a Wedgewood team member or a team director.

We will provide advice and guidance in a friendly manner even to the most experienced riders.
