Races

As part of its mission to fundraise and build awareness for the BC Cancer Foundation the Wedgewood Cycling Team organizes and presents one road race and one cyclocross race each season.

The road race, the Westside Cycling Classic, run under the direction of Jonathan Wornell sets the standard by which all other races are measured. The only road race organized within the City of Vancouver, the Westside has established itself as one of the premiere races in Canada.

The Wedgewood cyclocross races, championed within the team by Dave "Cross Boy" Cressman are also organized within the city. Initially running at Jericho Beach, the race found a new home in 2008 at New Brighton Park. The rave reviews for the world class course that Dave designed and the support shown by the Vancouver Park Board suggests that this venue will remain in place for years to come.
