October was a very busy month for Team Wedgewood. During the same October 28th weekend, both local and International cyclists and aficionados.
October 28, 2005 -- An Evening of Champions
On Friday, October 28th the Wedgewood Cycling Team hosted an Evening of Champions with two of cycling's greatest riders – Eddy and Axel Merckx.
Hosted at the Vancouver Club, the sold-out fundraising banquet brought in more than $100K in proceeds for cancer research in British Columbia through ticket sales, an event raffle, and a silent auction.

October ,29 2005 -- Jericho Cyclo-Cross On Satuday, October 29th The seventh race in the BC Cross Cup was hosted by Team Wedgewood at the classic Jericho course on Vancouver's waterfront. Weather was perfect with a partly cloudy sky and average temps that brought the racers and fans out for a great day of racing.

Wedgewood Cycling Team Competes for 2005
The Award Winning Wedgewood
Hotel in downtown Vancouver, Canada has presented the full list
of associate sponsors for the city's newest cycling team,"Wedgewood
Cycling Team".
Members will ride in support of the BC Cancer Foundation raising awareness and funds for Cancer Research in British Columbia through the organization of various events including a new Vancouver Road Race which will form part of the Fiesta Days Weekend Celebration called the "Westside Cycling Classic" and an end of year banquet and raffle that will include many prizes generously donated by the international world of cycling and some of the "greats of the sport".
The Wedgewood Hotel is presented by its General Manager Philip Meyer, as title sponsor with the team supported by four associate sponsors which include long time cycling rendezvous "Bean Around the World" coffee stores and suppliers, Washington Marine Group , Treloar Physiotherapy Clinic , Body & Soul Health & Fitness and supplier sponsors La Bicicletta Vancouver's premier road bike store and Schwalbe Tyres.

Long-time supporter of cycling, Vancouver's Wedgewood Hotel, has
launched its own team according to Canadian Cyclist. Team Wedgewood
riders will raise funds for the British Columbia Cancer Agency and
organize events and races to raise awareness and support for cancer
research in the province.
The team is supported by four associate sponsors including cycling hang-out "Bean around the World" coffee stores and suppliers. Membership will be on two levels, 'active' and 'social' and more information is available from Wedgewood Hotel general manager Philip Meyer at pmeyer@teamwedgewood.com.
Principals are local riders: Brent Kirkpatrick, Dave Cressman, Philip Meyer, Darnelle Moore and Jonathan Wornell.
