Welcome to the
Wedgewood Cycling Team
Established in 2004, the Wedgewood Cycling Team ranks as one of British Columbia’s most respected cycling clubs. From spirited team rides to fundraising activities, the Wedgewood Cycling Team is committed to high performance, social responsibility and two-wheeled camaraderie.
We pride ourselves on our community involvement. In particular, Wedgewood Cycling donates proceeds from our races and fundraising events to the B.C. Cancer Foundation – an independent charitable organization that raises funds to support breakthrough research and care at the B.C. Cancer Agency. Their vision is a World Free from Cancer. Our aim is to help them make this a reality.

The Journey Home
Seattle to Vancouver in a Day
June 21, 2010
Following the inaugural BC Cancer Foundation Ride to Conquer Cancer in 2009 a small group of friends decided to ride back to Vancouver from Seattle in one day. That first ride was dedicated to Sindi Hawkins and her on-going battle with leukaemia. Funds raised were directed to Sindi's Education Endowment at the BC Cancer Foundation.
For 2010, the Journey Home ride will fund the development an education and early detection program in the name of Michael Reinhold Meier who passed away in September 2009, six days shy of his 26th birthday. He faced a short, but very intense battle with cancer which nobody saw coming. We need to change that. The Journey Home and www.letsFcancer.com are working together to support an education program to bring about that change. Donate and have the opportunity to receive some very unique gifts from the pro cycling community. Read more here...

The Journey Home
On Monday June 21st, 2010 a small group of Wedgewood Cycling Team members will continue the fundraising and ride home from Seattle in one day. The Journey Home is a ride about challenge, teamwork, camaraderie and hope and will be ridden in memory of Michael Meier who lost his fight with cancer in the Autumn of 2009. Michael was the brother of professional cyclist Christian Meier of the Garmin-Transitions Pro Cycling Team. Funds raised this year will go towards helping the fight against Cancer in British Columbia. Follow the Journey Home blog here.
